Project Overview:
Since the start of 2016 alone, scientists have discovered evidence for a new planet within our solar system, and mathematicians discovered a new prime number that stretches out 22.3 million digits. New technologies and groundbreaking discoveries seem to multiply every year, from self-driving cars to 3D printed organs and even fully automated kitchens.
With all of these exciting developments, how are citizens living in the Age of Information supposed to keep up with the times? One possible answer is podcasting. With over 1 billion downloads last year alone, podcasts reach a massive audience, who choose to learn something new about their world while they exercise, clean the house, or shop for groceries.
In this project, students will work in groups to communicate a story of science in a podcast episode by researching, writing scripts, and interviewing experts, ultimately seeking to publish them as a submission to iTunes.
