Project Description:
Students will have the opportunity to choose a planet to study and design a species based on the attributes of that planet. In groups of two students will discover the Spectrometry of their chosen planet and develop models to describe the atomic compositions, analyze and interpret data, study societal impact, thermal energy, and chemical reactions.

Artistic Statement:
We researched many topics in art and learned about contrast colors. Our aliens contrast each other using red(ish) and green. These colors are opposite to each other on the color wheel, making them compliment each other. That’s why we made Patricia red(sort of) and Tommy green.
We learned about wavelengths and how we can detect life on other planets. We also learned about what gases are essential for life to exist. I know I learned these because my partner and I got a 92% on our write up.
I think my experience was just fine and we had a fun time making the ideas and sketching out the aliens. Besides the fact that our cutoff date was too short we didn’t have a chance to get all our ideas down, so the quality work was gone. We had fun exploring questions that can’t always be answered and looking for answers in the infinite universe. It was quite the experience.
On our alien it has a spiked mane. I did this because my inspiration was a lion and a stegosaurus. That is also why I did the snout and teeth like that to represent a lion mouth. The other alien has horns and we chose that because we wanted it to match with the female in some type of way.
